Ozzy Osbourne buried next to ‘beautiful’ lake - as Elton John and Marilyn Manson attend private funeral service

Ozzy Osbourne has been buried next to a “beautiful” lake in the grounds of his Buckinghamshire family home.

The Black Sabbath rocker died aged 76 last Tuesday following a battle with Parkinson’s, which was diagnosed in 2019.

The Prince of Darkness was given a fitting farewell in a public procession through the streets of Birmingham on Wednesday, during which thousands of fans as well as Ozzy’s family paid tribute to him.

The music legend was laid to rest a day later at his family home - which he and wife Sharon bought in 1993 - in an “incredibly emotional” private service for 110 of his loved ones, The Sun reported.

A wreath which read, “Ozzy f**king Osbourne” was placed by the bank of the water during the service, which was attended by Sharon and his children Jack, 39, Kelly, 40, Aimee, 41, and Louis, 50, who is Ozzy’s son from his first marriage to Thelma Riley.

Stars including Ozzy’s Black Sabbath bandmates, Metallica’s James Hetfield, Yungblud, Sir Elton John, and Marilyn Manson were all among the mourners.

Other celebrity guests included Ozzy’s guitarist Zakk Wylde and Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor.

“Ozzy wanted his final place of rest to be at home and he is buried at a beautiful point on the lake,” an insider said.

“As well as the ‘Ozzy f**king Osbourne’ wreath, which made people smile, there was another floral tribute which spelt out ‘Ozzy’ that was placed by the fountain on the lake.

“There was a stage where people including Yungblud, who grew very close to Ozzy in recent years, were set to pay tribute to him.”

The family home was decorated with pictures of Ozzy and everyone was given a photograph of him to take home, according to the source.

Guests were reportedly sent a black invitation with a picture of a cross that read, “In loving memory of Ozzy Osbourne,” and were taken from The Crowne Plaza and The Bull in nearby Gerrards Cross to the house at 2pm, with the service starting at 3pm.

The service was held in tents erected in the 250-acre grounds of the estate along with a stage where guests, including Ozzy’s close friend, punk singer Yungblud, paid tribute to Ozzy.

The music icon died on July 22 surrounded by his family.

In a statement, his family announced: “It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning.

“He was with his family and surrounded by love.”

His wife and children were all at the funeral on Wednesday, walking behind his hearse as it paused at key landmarks from Ozzy’s life, including his childhood home on Lodge Road in Aston.

Sharon was seen breaking down in tears as she read tributes to her husband, with her children fighting back tears as they stood next to her.

Each family member carried a pink flower wrapped in black paper that they laid on top of the many other floral tributes that sat next to a poster of the star that said: “Birmingham will always love you”.

Crowds erupted into chants of "Ozzy! Ozzy! Ozzy! Oi! Oi! Oi!" as the cortege passed by, with a brass band performing Black Sabbaths Iron Man in tribute.

Outside the singer’s former terraced house, floral tributes were laid beneath a photo of Ozzy placed in the front window by the current residents.

The family stepped out to pay their respects, with Sharon seen making peace signs to the crowd and hugging the Lord Mayor of Birmingham, Zafar Iqbal, in an emotional moment at the Black Sabbath bench on Broad Street.

Ozzy’s grandchildren also laid flowers at the memorial, adding to the sea of tributes that had gathered at the site.
