Ozzy Osbourne admits he's 'in unbelievable pain' as he battles Parkinson's

Ozzy Osbourne has revealed that he is in constant pain as he battles Parkinson's disease.

The 71-year-old former Black Sabbath singer has cancelled his North American tour so that he can travel to Europe to get treatment and he has now opened up about his daily struggles with the illness.

Ozzy confirmed his Parkinson's diagnosis in an emotional interview alongside his wife Sharon in January and now the legendary heavy metal singer has spoken how it is a daily battle.

He told The Sun: "I’m in unbelievable pain 24/7."

Ozzy was diagnosed with Parkinson's after having a fall at his home last year.

It was pitch black in his house because he "can't sleep with any light on," and Ozzy tripped and fell while heading to the toilet in the middle of the night.

He thought that he had broken his neck in the process.

As he lay there on the floor, he recalls thinking: "Well Ozzy, you’ve f***ing done it now."

After a well documented battle with drugs and alcohol during his rock n' roll lifestyle, Ozzy admits that it is a struggle to take painkillers but not have anything stronger.

The legendary rocker admits: "I’m dying for all the opiate stuff I can’t have.

“The nurse keeps my medication so I don’t take anything apart from what they give me."

He is now dependent on a carer to help him get changed and to have baths, which he says is "just f***ing awkward."

As well as revealing that he has Parkinson's disease, the fall also aggravated a neck injury that he suffered during a horrific quad bike accident in 2003.

It is this pain that he is finding unbearable and Ozzy believes he could cope with Parkinson's if it wasn't for the trouble with his neck.

He said that is "driving me nuts" and that he would choose Parkinson's over "the f***ing neck," as it has caused so much consternation.

Speaking about the cancellation of his North American tour, Ozzy said the decision was made "because I might only be able to do a couple of shows."

He admitted that he done some "stupid things" in his life, citing alcoholism and drug addiction among them but is frustrated this time as "the recovery has been so goddam slow."

A return to performing on stage is still on the cards though but not until he is "ready".
