Ozzy and Sharon Osbourne’s ‘often wild, insane and dangerous’ love story to be turned into feature film

The Osbournes are coming to the big screen.

The true love story of veteran heavy metal icon Ozzy Osbourne and his manager and TV personality Sharon Osbourne will be the subject of an upcoming feature film, written by Oscar nominee Lee Hall.

According to published reports, the yet-to-be-titled project will be produced by PolyGram Entertainment, and will follow a biopic format centering on the British couple’s decades-long bond.

“Our relationship at times was often wild, insane and dangerous but it was our undying love that kept us together,” Sharon Osbourne said with the announcement. “We’re thrilled to partner with Sony Pictures and PolyGram to bring our story to the screen.”

The pair married in 1982 after dating for three years.

The 69-year-old family matriarch will make the new venture a family affair: Two of the couple’s kids Jack Osbourne and Aimee Osbourne will also serve as producers of the feature film.

It will be a reunion (of sorts). The clan gained popularity in mainstream American with their MTV reality show, “The Osbournes,” which aired from 2002 until 2005 and became one of MTV’s most-watched at the time of its premiere.

Hall previously won raves and accolades for scripting the Academy Award-nominated screenplay for “Billy Elliot” and the book and lyrics for the Tony and Olivier Award-winning theatrical adaptation. His writing credits also include the Elton John biopic “Rocketman,” Steven Spielberg’s “War Horse,” and Stephen Frears’ “Victoria & Abdul.”

The film will feature songs from Ozzy’s band Black Sabbath as well as work from his Grammy Award-winning solo career.
