Ozan Kabak may have played his last Liverpool game as double injury update confirmed

Ozan Kabak may have played his last game for Liverpool – while Diogo Jota faces a race against time to be fit for Euro 2020.

Kabak was again absent as Nat Phillips and Rhys Williams featured at centre-back in Sunday’s dramatic 2-1 Premier League win at relegated West Bromwich Albion.

The 21-year-old, on loan from Schalke, has missed the last three games with a muscle problem.

And with Liverpool having yet to decide whether to trigger an option to make permanent his move in an £18million deal, there is a chance the defender will not feature for the Reds again.

“Ozan, no,” said Klopp when asked if Kabak could feature in either of the last two games, at Burnley on Wednesday or at home to Crystal Palace four days later.

“From the long-term injured, and unfortunately Ozan is a long-term, nobody is coming back I don’t think.”

Klopp had revealed before the game that Jota would also not feature again this campaign having injured his right foot.

Jota was forced off during the 4-2 win at Manchester United on Thursday when caught by United defender Eric Bailly.

The forward will spend at least the next two weeks wearing a protective boot, leaving him only a fortnight before Portugal begin their Euro 2020 campaign against Hungary on June 15.

“Diogo, I don’t know actually,” said Klopp when asked for a timescale on the player’s return. “It’s not too serious but how it always is, you have to wait how it develops and heals.

“It’s a little bone in the foot and we have to see. I think he will be in a boot for a few weeks or so.

“When he gets out the boot, the doctors can check how it is has developed, how far the progress is.”
