Musicians Ms Banks and Joy Crookes will take part in this year’s Oxford Street Christmas lights opening ceremony on November 21.

The artists will mark 60 years of the festive displays by performing in-store shows, championing London’s homegrown talent.

Capital XTRA presenters Yinka and Shayna Marie will also perform DJ sets following the unveiling of a new lights design made up of 27 energy-efficient LED curtains. Fans wishing to attend live performances on the night can register for tickets here.

Rapper Ms Banks, who will perform at the Nike store, said: “To be a part of the iconic Christmas switch-on evening is so epic, I am extremely proud to be a part of the in-store gigs.”

Joy Crookes, who will be performing at Topshop, added: “[Oxford Street is] one of my favourite places to visit at Christmas. As a Londoner, to be part of 2019’s switch-on evening on Oxford Street feels surreal and is a real privilege having seen so many amazing artists be part of it before me.”

Oxford Street is home to one of the most high-profile Christmas light displays in London – for a full guide, head here.
