The Oxford Mail is running a campaign to raise awareness about "distraction burglars" who con the elderly and the vulnerable by making them pay for unnecessary home repairs. The paper launched the campaign after Oxfordshire trading standards agency revealed that residents had paid out at least £150,000 to unscrupulous cold-calling traders in a nine-month period last year.
