Owners of popular cafe Ceres are back with pop-up brunch spot

The owners of a popular cafe which made the difficult decision to close last year have launched a new venture.

Léa Chaouchi and Dan Ingram ran Ceres Coffee together for three years but struggled due to a high tax bill.

Fans of the Stokes Croft Melbourne-style eatery will be happy to know they're making a come-back this weekend (August 1-2).

Their brunch pop-up will be based in Spaghetti Incident, also on Stokes Croft.

From this weekend (Saturday 1 August), they will be making a come back by launching a brunch pop up in another restaurant (August 1-2).

Diners can look forward to smoked salmon, burnt butter hollandaise, sweet corn fritters and fat stack pancakes.

Everything Ceres serve is made by them, down to the bread and butter.

Miss Chaouchi, said: “[We’re] all about playing the music loud and having a casual dining experience accompanied by high quality food.

“We cook everything to order with loads of gluten free and vegan options. We are a family business and so I always bring my baby to work.

"Having served 300 people every weekend with my daughter on my chest in her sling till she was 10 months old, we now have a three-week old son who will be taking orders with me.

“Our customers loved being a part of our family journey at Ceres so I’m excited for everyone to meet him.”

Going forward they are hoping to do pop-ups at least twice a month and maybe more in the near future.

Léa and Dan will be running the show in the kitchen with the owner of Spaghetti Incident helping to serve the food.

From 9am-3pm they’ll be serving their brunch menu with juices and coffees and Spaghetti Incident are providing cocktails for those who want a boozy brunch.
