Owners of one of Nottingham’s best-loved shops retiring after nearly 40 years

The owners of one of Nottingham's coolest, best-loved shops have said farewell after nearly 40 years of celebrating new and vintage fashion.

Wild Clothing opened in Hockley in 1983 and has been a go-to store for those looking for something unique.

Owners Mary McCallion and Robin Pounder have bid farewell to the shop in Broad Street, which is the city's longest-standing vintage boutique.

They told customers: "This shop has been our life for thirty seven and a half years and today we leave it as the proprietors for the very last time, to enjoy what will hopefully be a long and happy retirement.

"We would like to take this opportunity to thank every customer and every member of staff who over all those years have helped us make this place what is, in our totally unbiased opinion, the best little shop in the world. We wish it all the best for its continuing future."

They ended their run with a simple Instagram message, saying "That’s it. Our work here is done..."

As well as retro pieces the shop has sold new clothing for both men and women, from the likes of Stussy, Bantum, Obey, Dickies and Pop Boutique.

Whether it's a vintage Hawaiian shirt for the student pub crawl or a Run & Fly pinafore, Wild Clothing has been the place to find it.

Fans sent the retiring duo on their way with good luck messages. One described the shop as a "Hockley Legend."

Another said: "Awww wishing you guys the best! Thanks for all the awesomeness."

"Great shirt Robin. Saying goodbye with style," said a third.
