Owners of Lime in Nuthall to open new street food restaurant - a mile from the city centre

One of Nottinghamshire's favourite curry houses is branching out to open a restaurant bursting with flavours from the bustling streets of India.

Chaska Restaurant will be opening in June - the name means addiction and the owners hope customers will become addicted to the food.

It's a new venture for Shahid Rana and her brother Sohail, the owners of Lime in Nuthall, an award-winning Indian restaurant with a recommendation in the Michelin Guide for its flavoursome food.

As yet they haven't revealed the location, other than to say it's a mile out of the city centre in a vibrant, busy area, but are posting a series of teasers on their social media pages.

Shahid told Nottinghamshire Live: "The restaurant will be a very cool and quirky design. We are travelling over to India/Pakistan in April to get some final menu and restaurant inspiration before all the finer details are fully finalised."

Fans of Lime, in Upminster Drive, needn't worry about any changes there. It will continue as it is, added Shahid.

Indian street food has taken off in Notts. Mowgli opened in Stoney Street, Hockley, combining swing seats with yoghurt chat bombs. The crispy puffs filled with chick peas, spiced yoghurt, tamarind and coriander are a favourite snack on the streets of India.

Sherwood has Rikshaw Indian Kitchen with street chaat 'to go' and the Bombay Sweet Centre in Hyson Green launched a street food menu with pani puri and bhel puri last October.
