Owners of ill pug need to raise £1000 to buy him a set of wheels - can you help?

The owners of a Midlothian pug which suffers from a spinal condition are trying to raise money to buy him a set of wheels so he can stay mobile.

Winston started to develop a weakness in his back legs a few months ago and was diagnosed with Subarachnoid Diverticulum, a condition which will ultimately leave him paralysed in his back end.

Owners Marie, Peter and Chloe - from Bonnyrigg - need to raise £1000 for further treatment and a set of wheels to support his rear legs.

The five-year-old pug has been walked by the Little Pawz service since he was a puppy, but he can no longer walk with other dogs.

Owners say: "To give Winston some quality of life at the moment his owners would love to get him wheels which would help him be able to move around and take the pressure off his back end. Any pressure causes inflammation which in turn makes the cyst grow faster blocking the spinal column.

"Winston can no longer do walks, or play with other dogs so we felt that these wheels would help to get him out and about a wee bit.

"The specialist also recomended swimming sessions for Winston so any money raised will pay for his wheels and swimming  sessions.

"Winston is very much loved by us all and is a very special boy. We want to try and give him some quality of life and enjoyment back into his wee life."
