Owners issue desperate plea for missing cat last seen swimming in River Kelvin

Desperate owners of a missing cat in Glasgow's west end have issued a plea for locals to keep an eye out after she was last seen swimming in the River Kelvin.

Sophie has black and white markings and wears a purple collar with a bell on it.

She was last seen in Kelvingrove Park on July 28 with her family, where they say she was 'spooked and swam across the river'.

After getting across, Sophie climbed out onto the bank on the other side near the Prince of Wales Bridge but hasn't been seen since.

Her worried family are asking anyone in the west end to keep an eye out, as it seems Sophie could be anywhere in the west end, or in any buildings that had an open window when the weather was hot.

They told Glasgow Live: "She could still be nearby or could easily be anywhere in Hillhead, Woodlands, Yorkhill, or even further afield in Dowanhill or Partick.

"PLEASE CHECK SHEDS, GARAGES, LOCKUPS and any buildings where doors or windows have been open in the warm weather."
