Owners desperate to find Alsatian which went missing in Gorgie

The owners of an Alsatian dog which went missing in Gorgie are desperately appealing  for its return.

Eight-year-old Skye vanished from outside the Sainsbury's superstore at Murrayfield around 5pm on Sunday.

One of her owners left her outside the shop for 20 minutes and came back to find her gone. Skye has never disappeared before and they are worried she may even have been stolen.

Police are understood to be treating the case as a lost or missing dog.

There may have been sightings of Skye on Monday around Polwarth and Morningside but the Scottish SPCA have been unable to track her down.

Kelly Colquhoun said: "We are extremely worried about her as she needs daily medication for her back."

Distressed animals can be reported to the Scottish SPCA on 03000 999 999.
