Employee at Co Meath garage opens up after staff and public help deliver baby girl

A baby girl was delivered by a shop supplier, a member of the public and three staff members in Ashbourne, Meath last week.

The little baby was born in King's Gala Service station on Tuesday, 9 April just after 5pm.

Assistant manager of the store, Lorraine Byrne, said that it was all hands on deck at the store during the birth.

She told Dublin Live: "Stephen Reid who actually works in Ashbourne Farm - who supply directly beside us - was on site at the time.

Bride says pregnant bridesmaid 'ruined' wedding and owes her £30k for a do-over

"He was assisted by staff members, Jack Geraghty, Mary Reilly, Siobhan Doherthy and an unnamed person of the public."

She continued: "It happened last Tuesday after 5pm. Neither Jerry Brady (the store manager) or I were there for the birth, sadly.

"Stephen Reid was first on the scene, followed by Jack and then the other ladies."

PR & Marketing Manager for the Group, Marie, added that it was a "lovely story for all the Staff here at King's Gala Ashbourne".

She added that "Monday and Tuesday are always exceptionally busy" in the store so you can just imagine that this just added to the stress of it all.
