Owen Hargreaves shares Manchester United top-four prediction amid Tottenham 'job done' claim

Owen Hargreaves believes Manchester United are 'too inconsistent' to finish in the top four this campaign and has backed rivals Tottenham to get the job done instead. United revived their Champions League push with a Cristiano Ronaldo-inspired victory over Norwich on Saturday afternoon.

Having scored twice to put United in control, Ronaldo was needed to spare his side's blushes in the dying embers after the rock-bottom Canaries hit back. Ronaldo duly obliged with a stunning free-kick that settled the scores and took full advantage of defeats for fellow top-four hopefuls Arsenal and Tottenham.

At the close of play, only three points separates those sides and the Gunners have a game in hand. However, when asked to make his prediction, former United player Hargreaves explained the reasons why he thinks Tottenham will go on to qualify for the marquee European competition.

Hargreaves told Premier League Productions: "Fixture-wise it's tough for Arsenal. They struggled up against Crystal Palace, Brighton and Southampton. They've got Chelsea, Man United, West Ham, Leeds and Tottenham coming up.

"Looking at Arsenal's fixtures, I'm saying no. I know they're close - but if you're losing and not scoring against Palace, Brighton and Southampton, you're going to struggle. It's made it really difficult for them."

Hargreaves added: "Tottenham are still in the driving seat because they're ahead. I know Arsenal have that game in hand, but I think Arsenal will fall short with the fixtures they've got.

"Manchester United are just too inconsistent. Tottenham should be able to get the job done."
