Owen Hargreaves pinpoints moment Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes would have infuriated Sir Alex Ferguson

Owen Hargreaves believes Sir Alex Ferguson would have fumed at Bruno Fernandes for his role in Leicester's first goal during Manchester United's draw with the Foxes.

Fernandes was in inspired form against Brendan Rodgers' side at the King Power Stadium, providing the assist for Marcus Rashford to open the scoring with a deft touch before scoring himself in the second half.

Despite his brilliance for the opener, the Portuguese contributed to United conceding by attempting a nutmeg on Wilfred Ndidi in his own half.

The resulting Leicester attack concluded with Harvey Barnes firing past David de Gea from outside the box.

Hargreaves believes Fernandes' would have received a dressing down from legendary ex-United boss Ferguson for not clearing the danger.

"Fernandes, sometimes as good as you are, don't play with risk in your own half," he told Premier League Productions. "He's fortunate Ole is a nice manager because I can only imagine what Sir Alex would have said to one of us if we tried to nutmeg someone in our own half."

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer introduced Paul Pogba after the interval and the Frenchman sparked a second-half revival for United which resulted in Fernandes finding the back of the net.

Hargreaves believes the current United manager is still struggling to find a way to field his most creative midfielders together.

He added: "They've spent all that money on Paul to be the difference maker. Bruno has come in and he's became the difference maker. I think the issue - can they get them in the team together? Paul didn't play because Fred and McTominay do a job.

"Fernandes gets you goals and assists almost on his own. It's trying to find a way to get Pogba in the side."
