Owen Farrell has completed a sensational return to Saracens.
The fly-half left the Premiership club last summer to join Top 14 outfit Racing 92 after 16 years in north London, but he cut his stay in Paris a year short to return home.
Farrell, the former England captain, was left out by his father Andy for this summer’s British and Irish Lions tour to Australia.
England’s all-time top points scorer was ineligible to play for his country during his time in France, where he was blighted by persistent injuries, but he will now be available for selection for the upcoming tour to Argentina, which takes place in July.
He struggled all season with a hip problem, before suffering a season-ending concussion during the Challenge Cup semi-final against Lyon in May.
Farrell made 17appearances for Racing, who finished 10th in the Top 14 this term.
Now, Farrell says that he is “home” following his return, and the 33-year-old emphasised his hunger to continue his legacy at the club he came through the ranks at.
"Saracens is my home and the opportunity to come back is one that excites me enormously," Farrell said.
"Having watched from afar this season, it is clear to see that the club has incredible potential, and I can't wait to get back in the mix for the 2025-26 season."
Mark McCall, Sarries’ director of rugby, said of Farrell’s re-signing: "Owen has Saracens in his DNA; his competitive spirit is woven into the fabric of this club, and we are delighted he has chosen to come home.
"He returns to a young group full of potential, players eager to learn, play and push for success. We know he will love being part of where this group, and this club, are headed."
