Owen Coyle 'set' for quickfire management return after leaving Queen's Park just one month ago

Owen Coyle has returned to management after leaving Queen's Park just a month ago following their failure to win promotion from the Scottish Championship.

And perhaps surprisingly, it will be a return to the Indian Super League for the Scot - with former club Chennaiyin taking him back after a more than dismal season on their own behalf. The 'Demons' only came eighth in the Indian Super League last season, three points off the top half and lacking massively in their defensive department with the third-worst defence in the league.

Coyle was previously boss of Chennaiyin in 2019 to 2020, coming second in the league and losing only in the final to ATK, before leaving the club after just 15 games - despite winning over half of them.

That, of course, will be in the mainframe of Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan and Indian international cricket legend MS Dhoni, who own the club and will want to see it return to former glories.

Elsewhere, he helped Indian outfit Jamshedpur win the League Winners' Shield in 2022 - and he will go back for a third time to go one better with Chennaiyin.

Having left Queen's Park surprisingly after their valiant yet failed attempt to earn top-flight promotion for the first time in 65 years, it remains to be seen whether Coyle will return to Scottish football in any form of management capacity.
