"NERF THIS," you say? Sure thing. Blizzard is nerfing Overwatch 2's heroes with actual NERF guns in a special new collab this week, and it's about damn time.
With D.Va shouting her ultimate line for nearly the past 10 years, the NERF collab with OW2 is long overdue, but it seems like it's gonna be a pretty fun one when it kicks off tomorrow, Aug 5, giving heroes actual NERF guns to use in-game.
Several NERF-themed weapon skins are inbound as part of the collab, including Genji’s Slingerang and Power Blast Bat, Baptiste’s Loadout Galactic Commander, Hanzo’s Big Bad Bow, Mei’s Super Soaker XP100, Soldier: 76’s N Series Pinpoint, and Cassidy’s Maverick gun, Vortex Football grenade, and new NERF Legendary hero skin.
In a blog about the collab, Blizzard confirmed that Tracer's Gelfire Pros NERF weapon skins will be earnable in the event, which includes a mode called NERF or Nothin', which is described as "a fast-paced free-for-all where eight players drop in, and the first to hit 20 eliminations claims the win." But there's more.
You begin each round with a random hero, and every elimination turns you into a new character (think Gun Game in CoD, but with heroes). Even if you can't get a kill, you will swap after three deaths, but heroes won't repeat, and every ability has 80 percent cooldown reduction, so it's going to be madness.
Completing event challenges can unlock a spray, player icon, weapon charm, and 40,000 battle pass XP on top of Tracer's NERF weapons, before the event comes to a close on Aug. 18 and the new cosmetics disappear for good, or at least for a while.

If you'd like to complete the collection of NERF guns, get ready to fork over some Overwatch Coins when the NERF event begins tomorrow, Aug. 5.
