Overwatch 2 Introduces Double Trouble Mode Allowing Duplicate Hero Selections.

Overwatch 2

Blizzard is set to introduce a new limited-time Quick Play mode in Overwatch 2 called Double Trouble, where teams will have the option to run two of the same hero in the Damage and Support roles. This event aims to test potential long-term changes for the game and provide players with more creative freedom in team compositions.

In the early days of Overwatch 1, there were no restrictions on hero selection, allowing for unconventional team compositions. However, Blizzard later implemented a hero limit and Role Queue to enhance gameplay balance.

Game director Aaron Keller expressed enthusiasm for players to explore new strategies and compositions in the upcoming Double Trouble event. The mode is expected to go live in the next few weeks, offering players a unique gameplay experience.

Additionally, midseason balance changes are scheduled for March 12, coinciding with the launch of the Cowboy Bebop crossover event. One significant adjustment includes reducing the healing reduction passive for DPS heroes from 20% to 15%. This change aims to address concerns about gameplay dynamics and player experience.

Several heroes will receive buffs in the upcoming patch, with Ana's Biotic Grenade seeing an increase in healing and damage from 60 to 90. Other heroes such as Lifeweaver, Doomfist, and Mauga will also benefit from enhancements. Furthermore, a 'small rework' for Wrecking Ball is teased for Season 10, promising exciting gameplay adjustments.
