Overturned lorry at busy roundabout shuts road as police called

An overturned lorry on a busy roundabout has closed a street as police were called to the scene. The incident, which caused some disruption, took place on the Beckingham roundabout, in between Gringley and Beckingham Road in Nottinghamshire, three miles west of Gainsborough.

Lincolnshire Highways was in attendance at the incident at around 2pm on Friday, November 4, reports Lincolnshire Live. It used a Highways Maintenance truck to turn the lorry back onto its wheels.

The Gringley Road turning off the roundabout was closed whilst the lorry was being turned back upright. This route also leads to Gainsborough so would have caused inconvenience for drivers heading in that direction.

The lorry has fallen onto its side onto a grass verge at the side of the road. A Cosgrove Rescue and Recovery vehicle also assisted the turning over of the lorry.

A police car was also in attendance with cones blocking drivers off from that area of the road. It is not yet known what caused the lorry to overturn or if there were any injuries.
