Manchester United supporters are split down the middle over reports Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has identified Declan Rice as a priority transfer target for next summer.
The 22-year-old has emerged as one of the hottest properties in the Premier League with his commanding displays for West Ham and the England national team.
Holding midfielder Rice further boosted his profile with a first goal for the Three Lions during the current international break.
Having signed Jadon Sancho, Raphael Varane and Cristiano Ronaldo for the 2021/2022 season, United were forced to put their pursuit for a high-quality central midfielder on hold.
Rice was among those linked with a move to Old Trafford, along with several other baseless alternatives.
Manchester Evening News understands, though, that United will renew their interest in the West Ham player next summer - and key figures responsible for incomings and outgoings at the Premier League giants have even chosen him as a top priority.
Here are a selection of comments made by United fans, on social media, in response to that news;
@Josh_England10 said: "If he or Kalvin Phillips continues to develop, I'd happily take either."
@BenedictJones14 posted: "Stop linking us to Declan Rice, he is overrated."
@Obifiilms added: "Such a good signing. Would be a guaranteed starter for the next 10 years. Completes the spine of the team for me."
@iamkirito7 said: "Should have got him this summer."
@SuzieKaay posted: "I'd rather play [Scott] McTominay than have Rice in my team, another stupid move."

@UtdArion added: "This guy will reject us for Chelsea if they come."
@kemzy_Qt said: "We should be looking at [Jude] Bellingham, too. So they replace Fred and [Nemanja] Matic in our midfield. That is a massive upgrade."
@AmBigSerge posted: "His price is absolutely pathetic, unfortunately. Go get [Wilfred] Ndidi or [Ruben] Neves."
@iimenagieto added: "He's the missing piece."
