Overnight road closures on M74 set to cause disruption for Glasgow drivers

A stretch of the M74 will be closed overnight next week as road upgrades are carried out.

Restrictions will be in place on the northbound route between Junction 4 Maryville and the M73 southbound merge, near to Junction 3A Daldowie.

The works are scheduled to take place from 8pm - 6pm across four consecutive nights from Monday, September 2.

A statement from Transport Scotland reads: "These works are for road surfacing and bridge repair works and the closures of the northbound carriageway are necessary to support the safety of both road users and workers.

"Road users are advised to plan your journey in advance and allow extra time to get to your destination."

A signed diversion will be in place via the M73 northbound link road to Junction 2 Baillieston before returning to the M73 southbound and M74 northbound at Junction 1 Maryville.

Access will be maintained from the M74 Junction 4 Maryville link road to Junction 3A Daldowie.
