Overeager MLB umpire falls down hard while sprinting onto field

Veteran umpire Tim Timmons has been officiating Major League games since 1999. And it’s honestly inspiring to learn that, after more than two decades on the job, in the sweltering Atlanta heat before a Nationals-Braves game on Sunday night, ol’ Tim Timmons was still so amped up to perform his difficult and generally thankless job that he sprinted out to short right field to position himself to handle second-base umping duties. It’s downright noble.

Except it all went awry. While running alongside spritely first-base umpire Mike Muchlinski, Timmons appeared to trip over first-base and took a massive header. He played it cool, but this had to hurt:
