'Over to you boys' - Leeds United fans keeping the faith in Premier League survival bid

Leeds United supporters have been left worrying about the threat of relegation all over again after Burnley’s 2-0 win against Southampton on Thursday evening. The Whites now sit just five point sabove the bottom three with a few tough fixtures on the horizon after the visit to Crystal Palace on Monday night.

Under both Marcelo Bielsa and now Jesse Marsch, it has felt that Leeds have been dragged back into the mire at the bottom every time they have shown signs of pulling away. By the time they make the trip to Selhurst Park on Monday, the gap could have been closed even further following Burnley’s home clash against Wolves on Sunday.

Although, by the same stretch, defeat for the Clarets and victory for Marsch’s side against the Eagles would go a long way to ensuring Leeds will be playing at the top table again next season. They go into the game in south London with the benefit of more than a fortnight’s rest since the 3-0 win at Watford so should be primed to take advantage of Palace’s poor form.

Patrick Vieira will be hoping for some kind of response from his players on the back of three defeats in a row, including the loss against Chelsea in the FA Cup semi-final last weekend. Regardless of Sunday’s results, it won’t be a game for the faint-hearted Leeds fans on Monday with so much riding on the match.

On the back of Burnley’s win on Thursday, a number of those will be watching developments at Selhurst Park through their fingers took to Twitter. Here is what a few of them had to say.
