Over 900 COVID-19 cases confirmed in Lanarkshire with 30 patients in intensive care

Over 900 coronavirus cases in Lanarkshire have been confirmed according to latest figures.

The daily statistics, published by the Scottish Government, show that Lanarkshire now has 911 confirmed cases.

Thirty patients in Lanarkshire are currently in intensive care with a further 203 in hospital.

Lanarkshire has currently got the fourth largest number of cases behind Greater Glasgow and Clyde, Lothian and Tayside.

Deaths of patients confirmed to have coronavirus in Scotland have risen to 779, an increase of 80.

Nicola Sturgeon confirmed the new COVID-19 death toll and said there were 7102 confirmed cases of the virus as of Thursday, a rise of 354 on the day before.

Speaking at a virtual session of First Minister’s Questions, she said she will attend a COBRA meeting with UK counterparts later on plans to extend the lockdown.
