LUCKNOW: Over 90% of the state’s sanctioned oxygen plants are now functional ahead of the anticipated third wave and 42 districts are now Covid free, the government said on Sunday.
According to the government, of the total 548 sanctioned oxygen plants, 501 (over 91%) are now fully functional. Of these, about 124 have been set up with funds from PM Cares.
Meanwhile, the state reported just 10 Covid patients on Sunday, with active cases falling down to 119. Patient recoveries in the last 24 hours was tagged at 19.
“The drop in fresh and active cases in Kanpur Nagar, Lakhimpur Kheri, Jaunpur, Ballia, Deoria, Barabanki, Ayodhya, Sonbhadra, Amroha, Chandauli, Pratapgarh, Kushinagar, Unnao etc, indicate complete elimination of coronavirus from over 56% of the state,” said an official statement.
On the vaccination front, the government claimed of vaccinating over 63% of the eligible adult population with at least the first dose.
Over 2.58 crore people in the state have been fully vaccinated and over 11 crore people have been inoculated so far with either the single or both doses.
Two more Covid positive
Two more persons tested Covid-19 positive on Sunday, while four patients recovered, bringing down the active cases to 24.
About 4,000 people also took their first or second dose of the vaccine at private hospitals. Government vaccination centres were closed due to weekly off.
