Over 8.6 lakh vaccine jabs administered, total doses reach 10.6 crore in UP

LUCKNOW: The sustained decline in Covid-19 cases continued here on Thursday with just 14 new cases surfacing from across the state in the past 24 hours.

An official statement said that the new cases were reported in just seven districts.

With this the state is left with just 167 active cases across 44 districts among which 21 have just one active case left.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also directed health officials to keep an eye on the communicable diseases and seasonal infections in different districts. It may be noted that cholera cases have surfaced in Gautam Budh Nagar, while diarrhoea have been reported in Siddharthnagar.

Talking about the Covid-19 vaccination status, health officials said that the total number of doses administered in the state reached 10.68 crore with 8.65 lakh people getting jabs on Thursday.

In terms of people, 8.61 crore are partially vaccinated, while 2.06 crore are fully immunised.

They also urged people in the state due for their second dose to get vaccinated on a priority basis in individual and national interest.
