PHAYAO: Ten polling units have been set up at Phayao University in this northern province for students, other first-time voters and people from other provinces to cast their ballots in the advance voting on Sunday.
A total of 8,319 people, including students, from other provinces have registered to vote in Phayao on Sunday ahead of the March 24 election. Each of the ten polling stations at Phayao University is designed to cater to about 800 voters between the hours of 8 and-5pm. In the past, Phayao province has been a stronghold for Pheu Thai.
Phayao governor Narongsak Osothanakorn and his entourage arrived at the university at about 9am for an inspection before proceeding to other polling units.
