INDORE: Around 72000 people due for precautionary dose of Covid-19 vaccines in the district till February 12 aren’t turning out at sites for taking it, showed records of health department.
Of those 72,000, around 52000 overdue people are among the general population aged above 60 plus. The others are 11000 frontline workers and 9000 are health care workers, showed records. A senior health official involved in the vaccination process told TOI, “These persons are due for their precaution dose in accordance with guidelines. The precaution doses are administered after a gap of 39 weeks or nine months.” The persons are not turning out despite completing the required gap, said the officials.
For the last one week or so, the team has begun calling the eligible beneficiaries for the taking their precaution dose. The teams of the health department from the control room called at least 22,000 persons in the last one week.
The health department records showed that they had administered precaution doses to 85905 persons till February 12 from January 10, when the drive was opened for it. Of those 85,905 inoculated ones, 22886 were health care workers, 24735 were frontline workers. TNN
