Culture Minister Catherin Martin has announced over €600,000 in funding to support the promotion of Irish art and culture at events around the world.
Minister for Tourism, Culture, Arts, Gaeltacht, Sport and Media, Catherine Martin made the announcement today that 91 projects will receive grants to fund their attendance at festivals, concerts and other cultural events in 27 different countries.
“It gives me great pleasure to announce this round of Culture Ireland’s funding enabling Irish artists to reach the global audiences they deserve. From baroque music in Croatia to rock music in Germany and from contemporary opera in London to important art fairs in Seoul and New York,” said the minister when announcing the grants.

In total, €626,000 is to be made available to people working in a wide variety of disciplines, including music, dance, architecture, theatre, visual arts, literature and film.
The projects will include sending Irish filmmakers to festivals where their films are to be shown, which include the Toronto Irish Film Festival, San Francisco Irish Film Festival and the Edinburgh International Film Festival.
When it comes to supporting musicians, the grants will contribute to tours by Irish bands and artists, including CMAT, Sprints, Ryan Mack and THUMPER. Traditional Irish music acts will also be given grants to encourage touring around Europe.
Irish artists are also set to receive financial assistance for exhibiting abroad in places like Germany, England and Scotland, while Irish galleries are also set to benefit when contributing to exhibitions in New York, Seoul and Berlin.
