Over 6,000 People Visit Saudi Antiquities Exhibition in Rome

More than 6,500 people visited on Sunday an exhibition on Saudi antiquities in Rome, a record number of visitors in a single day, reported the Saudi Press Agency.

It also marked the second highest attendance of visitors to Italian museums, organizers said Monday.

The spokesman of the Saudi Ministry of Culture, Abdulkarim Al-Humaid, explained that the exhibition, "Routes of Trade in the Arabian Peninsula - Masterpieces of Antiquities of Saudi Arabia through the Ages", was a great draw to visitors.

The exhibition, displaying more than 326 pieces, kicked off in Rome on November 26 and lasts for three months. On display are relics from the Arabian Peninsula dating back to the Ancient Stone Age until the establishment of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia by late King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud.
