Over 54mm of rain drenches Bhopal, more expected today

BHOPAL: Strong spells of showers lashed Bhopal and other parts of the state on Tuesday. The rainfall started in the morning and continued for the entire day with varying velocity. A warning of heavy showers was issued for several places in the state including Bhopal.

Officials of the meteorological department, Bhopal circle said, there is a deep depression over coastal Orissa. The monsoon trough is passing over Indore and Mandla in the state. The rainfall activity would continue for the next three days in the state.

Day temperature in Bhopal on Tuesday was recorded at 30.3 degrees Celsius while night temperature in the city was 23.0 degrees Celsius.

In the forecast for Bhopal on Wednesday the meteorological officials said, there would be cloudy sky with possibility of rain and a few spells may be heavy.

The places that recorded showers between 8.30 am and 5.30 pm in the day were Bhopal city 54.4 mm, Betul 42.0 mm, Raisen 42.0 mm, Ujjain 18.0 mm, Bhopal 17.6 mm, Malanjkhand 6.0 mm, Pachmarhi 5.0 mm, Narsinghpur 2.0 mm, Ratlam 2.0 mm, Khandwa 1.0 mm, Damoh 1.0 mm, Sagar 0.6 mm, Narmadapuram 0.5 mm, Indore 0.3 and Mandla recorded trace of rain.
