‘Over 50,000 Americans will die’: Bernie Sanders explains the truly frightening toll of Donald Trump’s ‘Big Beautiful Bill’

Donald Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill is going to cost American citizens their lives. This isn’t hyperbole or sensationalism, it’s a fact. The legislation brought in by the U.S. leader will have devastating consequences which will be felt for years to come, something which senator Bernie Sanders has been trying to warn us of.

In the days leading up to the vote on Trump’s bill, Sanders released a video titled, “This is the worst piece of legislation in modern American history.” In the eight minute video he warns of the dire effects this piece of legislation will have on the people. He focuses much of his argument on the disgusting tax breaks that will save the richest people in the country hundreds of billions of dollars while at the same time taking food and healthcare away from the poorest.

Bernie Sanders explains how badly Medicaid cuts will affect the U.S.

But it’s not just money that Trump and his cronies are taking from the poorest. 16 million people will potentially be thrown off of the healthcare program thanks to cuts of over a trillion dollars to Medicaid and the Affordable Healthcare Act. It would also require those still on the program to pay a $35 co-payment every time they visit a doctor.

So what is the result of all this? Sanders cites the Yale School of Public Health and the University of Pennsylvania which estimate we could see a whole lot of American people dying due to being denied healthcare.

“If this reconciliation bill is enacted, and it’s, you know, unbelievable for me to say this, but this is what they are telling us. This is what they have studied. If this bill goes through and all these health care cuts take place, over 50,000 Americans will die unnecessarily each and every year.”

How anyone can truly say with a straight face that Trump is putting Americans first when his bill will likely lead to hundreds of thousands of American deaths is beyond me. At what point is the cost too high, when do we say “enough is enough?” Make no mistake, this bill will affect Trump supporters as well. Sanders goes on to label Trump’s bill a “death sentence.”

Trump’s bill favors the rich

Of course, Trump’s priorities have never been with the working class. He may have tricked a large section of the working class demographic with empty promises of cheaper groceries but he is and always will be a puppet for the billionaire elites.

While the president celebrates making his rich buddies even richer the rest of the country will be left to deal with the terrible fallout of this awful bill. All we can do at this point is hope that the Yale School of Public Health and the University of Pennsylvania are wrong in their estimates.
