The research estimated a total of 64,260 traumatic injury deaths between October 7, 2023, and June 30, 2024, surpassing the previous figure reported by the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza.
As of October 2024, the study indicates that the death toll in Gaza could exceed 70,000, taking into account potential underreporting. The impact of Israel's military campaign is likely even more severe, as the analysis does not include deaths resulting from disrupted healthcare services, lack of essential resources like food and water, sanitation issues, and disease outbreaks.
