Over 340,000 Game of Thrones fans have signed a petition to remake season eight

After a huge build up, and eight long years of glorious highs and epic lows, the closing Game of Thrones series has left viewers feeling cheated.

But we're not talking about a small network of loyal Game of Thrones fans - over 340,000 people (and counting) really aren't happy about series eight.

In fact, they are demanding a redo before the final episode has even aired this Sunday and have launched a petition asking for a "remake of Game of Thrones series eight with competent writers".

The petition on Change.org reads: "David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have proven themselves to be woefully incompetent writers when they have no source material (i.e. the books) to fall back on.

"This series deserves a final season that makes sense. Subvert my expectations and make it happen, HBO!"

The petition also asks people to explain their "reasons for signing" with many fans criticising the co-writers for a "half-a****" effort .

Some say this is down to the writers not having George Martin's books to fall back on in the sixth, seventh and eighth seasons.

Meanwhile, others claimed the pair were just too eager to move on to their next project, Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker.

One disgruntled fan wrote: "Season 8 is so disappointing, characters are not at all given Justice. This clearly shows lazy writing when they don't have anything (books) to fall back on."

Elsewhere, another said: "I don't want these two anywhere near Star Wars, either. This was abysmal."
