Over 200 people trek to Wicklow Mountains for massive rave flouting Covid restrictions

More than 200 people descended upon the Wicklow Mountains for a massive rave flouting Covid restrictions.

Videos from the party show the crowds dancing and singing in the evening before breaking out the glowsticks and paint as the night time set in.

The event was organised on social media, with one source telling Dublin Live that the invites were shared around a network of friends.

The group organising the party also shared videos on Instagram during the day, showing people where the DJs, lights, and speakers would be set up.

They also flaunted where they could camp out if they wanted to spend the night.

The organisers have previously put on similarly sized raves in the woods, but described last night's party as a "big one".

Current Covid restrictions prevent people from meeting up with more than six others outdoors, while just 15 are currently permitted at organised outdoor events.

Dublin Live have contacted An Garda Siochana about the event.
