Over 20 police cars race to ongoing incident in Glasgow's east end

Police have rushed to the scene of an ongoing incident in Glasgow this evening.

Local residents reported seeing dozens of emergency vehicles racing to the east end of the city just after 7.20pm tonight (Thursday, May 21).

Eyewitnesses say there is a huge police presence at Hogarth Park, with vehicles spotted heading along Cumbernauld Road and Edinburgh Road.

Social media has been flooded with reports of around 20 - 30 officers in attendance at the Carntyne park.

One said: "Could someone tell me what’s happenin at Hogarth Park... so damn curious?

Another said: "Right so sources say that there are actually more like 40+ police cars/riot vans and they’re all up Carntyne and Edinburgh Road."

Another added: "Half of police Scotland at Hogarth park in the east end of Glasgow. Absolutely mental scenes."

The Daily Record has contacted Police Scotland for comment.
