Over 2,600 homes affected by power outages in north Cork due to fault

Power outages in Fermoy, Midleton and surrounding areas are currently affecting over 2,600 homes in north Cork.

The fault at Midleton has hit supplies to 2,357 homes - a major fault struck at 12pm today and the crews working on the issue hope to have power restored by 3.30pm today.

Further disruption is being caused to 147 homes in the Castlemartyr area due to planned maintenance work at Carrigshane - supply should be restored by 4.30pm on Thursday, Cork Beo reports.

More essential work at Castlelyons has seen around 100 homes in the Rathcormac area also lose their power.

The ESB says this should be restored around 3.30pm today.

The outage at Whitechurch between Cork and Mallow is affecting around 40 homes - the ESB has engineers on site and they hope to have power restored by late lunchtime.
