There are 2,706 properties across the DL15 area, mainly Crook, County Durham, currently without power after a cut.
The unplanned power cut was reported today just after 2pm.
Unexpected issues with cables and equipment is thought to have caused the outage.

Northern Powergrid have said in a statement:
'We're aware of an unplanned power cut in DL15.'
'We are currently working hard to restore your power however we are unable to provide an accurate restoration time.'
'The power cut affecting your property has been caused by an unexpected problem with the cables or equipment that serve your area.'
