Over 14,000 Corruption Notifications Filed in Saudi Arabia in 2018

President of the Saudi National Anti-Corruption Commission (Nazaha) Khalid Al-Mehaisen said that the agency received more than 14,000 corruption notifications in 2018.

These high figures are credited to the confidence and cooperation through communication channels and direct contact with parties, he said on the sidelines of the seventh annual Nazaha forum.

The forum was held in Jeddah in the presence of Prince Khalid Al-Faisal, Advisor to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz, and Prince of the Makkah Region.

Mehaisen noted that one of the anti-corruption achievements made in 2018 was King Salman’s approval of updating departments specialized in corruption in the public prosecution.

These departments investigate corruption cases and are directly answer to the public prosecutor, who stresses providing full protection to any employee who submits a notification against corrupt financial and administrative practices to guarantee that their rights are not violated.
