BHOPAL: For the first time more than 100 jabs of Covid vaccine were administered in over 200 centres in the state capital during a single day. Overall, 65,687 people were inoculated in Bhopal on Wednesday which was the first day of mega vaccination drive launched by the state government.
As many as 412 centres were operational during the day across the Bhopal. Day started with most people queuing to get their second jab. The trend continued till around 1.30 pm, after which people seeking their first dose, outnumbered the fully inoculated.
Till now over 21.47 lakh doses have been administered in Bhopal. 5.05 lakh people have got both doses of the vaccine. Around 12.35 lakh (first and second dose) are people in the age group of 18-44 years. 3.27 lakh are over the age of 60, whereas 5.84 lakh are between 45 to 60 year age group.
Over 21,000 people got inoculated through BMC run vaccination centres in Bhopal on Wednesday. 158 Gram Panchayat located vaccine centres administered vaccine to over 10,000 people. Both are record numbers for a single day for Bhopal.
Last day of mega vaccination drive is Thursday.
