NEW DELHI: Iran's longest-serving Supreme leader Ali Khamenei, killed in US-Israel joint strikes, will be buried on July 9 after a multi-day funeral, starting July 4.

The burial, which was originally scheduled for March but postponed because of the war, will take place in Khamenei's hometown of Mashhad, the holy city in northeastern Iran. It will be preceded by three days of funeral ceremonies in Tehran beginning July 4, followed by another ceremony in the holy city of Qom on July 7, report AFP.
Iranian authorities have announced that the former supreme leader will be buried in his hometown of Mashhad on July 9, 132 days after he was killed in a joint US-Israel strike.
