Over 1.1 million viewers tuned in as Dublin made history with their unprecedented fifth consecutive All-Ireland championship victory over Kerry in a replay yesterday.
Eoin Murchan's goal sent Jim Gavin's side on their way to a legendary five-in-a-row, despite Kerry holding them to a draw in their first match.
And a peak audience of 1,123,300 were watching on the Saturday Game Live on RTÉ2, while an average of 966.6 thousand viewers tuned-in for the game, which represents a share of 72.3% of those watching TV at the time.
In comparison, the first game drew an average audience for RTE of 968.7 thousand meaning a slight drop-off, but the peak figures were a similar 1.1 million.
RTÉ Group Head of Sport, Declan McBennett said “It's a fitting testament to two great teams that audiences again tuned-in to RTÉ in such huge numbers to witness the climax of a great GAA Championship year."

Last year's four-in-a-row triumph drew an average of 841.1 thousand, indicating a 125.5 thousand or 15% increase in viewers.
The figures are a further example of the increase across the board on RTÉ in 2019 with Dublin’s clash with Mayo in the semi-final on Saturday 10 August watched by 697,000 viewers on RTÉ2, yielding a 63% share of viewing.
That was 244,000 more than watched last year’s semi-final game between Dublin and Galway, which commanded a 47% share of viewers.
