A fire took hold in a Bristol flat at the weekend after a chip pan caught alight.
Firefighters issued a warning oven chips are "safer" after being rushed to the blaze in south Bristol on Thursday, July 9 at 10.48pm.
Fire crews from Bedminster and Temple Fire Station were both called out to the scene, in Bedminster's North Street.
Bedminster Fire Station posted on Twitter to say: "#bluewatch attended a chip pan fire in North Street, with the help of @AFRSTemple. 2 Breathing apparatus, 1 hose reel jet & 1 co2 extinguisher was used to extinguish. We know oven chips are not as nice, but it is much safer!!"
A spokesperson for Avon Fire and Rescue confirmed they were mobilised following reports of the flat fire.
The spokesperson said: "Crews from Temple and Bedminster were mobilised to reports of a flat fire on North Street.
"On arrival, firefighters found a fire on the first floor of the property.
"Firefighters used two breathing apparatus for safety and one 45mm jet to extinguish the fire.
"The cause is thought to be accidental."
