Outrageous stage show with a drunk cast member is heading to Nottingham

Sh*t-faced Shakespeare is a clue that this won't be typical high-brow theatre. An internationally-acclaimed, raucous production of the Bard's comedy A Midsummer Night's Dream is heading to Nottingham - with one of the cast completely legless.

An actor is selected at random each day and given four hours to drink before every performance. Then the whole cast come together on stage to perform the show that evening.

But having knocked back ale, wine or gin, it can throw all kinds of curve balls into the show and the rest have to go with it and try to keep things on track, with hilarious results.

Having entertained more than 350,000 theatre goers across the UK, US and Australia, as well as sell-out runs at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe and the Brighton Festival, Sh*t-faced Shakespeare's tour will be heading to Nottingham Playhouse on October 5.

Tickets are £21.50 from the box office on 0115 941 9419.
