The property market in Dublin has hit a new all-time low today after a home labeled "outrageous" online was seemingly removed following a surge in online fury.
One landlord posted an advertisement on Daft.ie and Rent.ie asking eager renters to pay €1,200 per month to live in a shed in Tallaght.
That's a staggering €14,400 a year to sleep on one wooden bed in a wooden shed.
The ad has since been removed from both sites but not before one house hunter took a screen shot which they posted on Twitter describing the place as "unbelievably outrageous".
He said: "€1,200 to live in a shed in Tallaght without any central heating."
He added: "Some people saying, 'its not that bad' Yeah, IT'S €14,500 A YEAR."
While some took the view that the price and living arrangements were 'acceptable in the current climate', most sided with the tweeter - with one person claiming "not even a mattress in sight".
But such is the current housing crisis in Dublin and across the State, many could understand why a bed in a shed was being considered as a studio and more so, why some would consider renting it.
One person said: "I’d take that at this stage if I could afford even half of it. I’m not even messing, that’s how bad it’s become. How did we end up here?"
Another commented: "Absolutely disgusting that this is even legal. Utter greed alive and well as always."
