‘Outrageous!’ - Chelsea fans deliver Ashraf Hakimi verdict as Blues bid to beat PSG to transfer

Chelsea have made one of their first significant moves in this summer’s transfer market by reportedly lodging a bid for Inter Milan’s Achraf Hakimi.

Reports surrounding the Blues’ interest had been floating around throughout the morning with news then breaking that they had matched Paris Saint-Germain’s £56.1m bid for the Moroccan wing-back.

It remains to be seen whether the bid would be enough to tempt the Italian giants into selling, especially having just lifted the Serie A crown under the departed Antonio Conte.

Hakimi played a vital role in their recent domestic success, scoring seven goals and assisting a further ten in the league.

The 22-year-old continued to display the form that he had shown at Borussia Dortmund having joined the German giants on loan from Real Madrid.

He was at the Signal Iduna Park for two seasons before a big-money move to the San Siro only last summer.

Despite that, news of Chelsea’s interested peaked fans’ interest - some being excited by the move but others being somewhat perplexed at his potential role within Thomas Tuchel’s set-up.

They took to social media on Wednesday afternoon to share their thoughts.

It remains to be seen whether Hakimi will elect to move to Stamford Bridge, especially with French giants PSG set to rival the Blues for his signature.

There were earlier reports that the West London outfit could contemplate offering Andreas Christensen and Emerson Palmieri as make weights which could potentially have sweetened the deal and seen Chelsea edge ahead of the Ligue 1 giants.

Hakimi still has four years left to run on the contract that he signed upon arrival in Italy just last summer.
