Outrage as Straight Pride poster promoting 'normal people' shown pinned to Scots church door

A Straight Pride poster promoting 'normal people' sparked outrage after it was found pinned to the front door of a church in Glasgow.

A member of the public claims to have removed the offensive poster after spotting it on the front door of the Cathcart Congregational Church on Monday. It is unknown who placed the poster there.

The cartoon image depicts a man and a woman with their three children and is emblazoned with the slogan 'Straight Pride'.

The message written below the graphic reads 'Because you wouldn't be here without normal people.'

The drawing appears to suggest that heterosexual couples and families are "normal people".

A resident shared an image of the poster on a community Facebook page, after explaining how she came across the 'ridiculous and homophobic' flyer.

She wrote: "I took it down after taking this photo, so it doesn't need to burn any other LGBT+ eyeballs.

Many were left appalled at the message on the poster. David McDaid wrote: "Scum bags".

Erin McGuigan said: "This is absolutely disgusting". Jamie McIntyre added: "I think that was made for young kids to see judging by the picture and words".

Cathcart Congregational Church and Police Scotland have been contacted for comment.
