Outrage as graffiti tags sprayed on city centre cenotaph

Vandals have sprayed tags on Bristol's city centre cenotaph - sparking outrage on social media.

Photographs and video footage of the graffiti have been shared on Twitter this evening (January 25), with one person branding them 'absolute thugs'.

Images show red tags have been sprayed on the war memorial, based on Colston Avenue, as well as the paving stones in front of it.

The Grade II listed monument has stood in Bristol since 1932 honouring those who fought in the First World War.
