TV viewers and punters were left outraged as footage emerged of a fan appearing to throw beer at a horse at Fairyhouse Racecourse today.
The incident occurred at the end of the 3.15 pm Happy New Year From Tote.ie Beginners Chase as a fan is seen throwing what appears to be a plastic cup filled with beer at third-placed Grand Paradis.
Racing TV coverage showed the shocking incident live and as the footage circulated on social media in the aftermath, fans were outraged by the shameful act.
Some punters called for the man to be identified and banned from future meetings for the disgusting act on the Gordon Elliott-trained horse.
